Hunchback of Notre Dame At La Jolla In California!

Disney has been busy!!! After news broke that a Broadway adaptation of Frozen would be fast tracked, we thought for sure the rumored Hunchback of Notre Dame musical would be put on the back burner. But if anyone could multi-task it’s Disney, the juggernaut that already has The Lion King and Newsies on the Great White Way with the highly anticipated Aladdin coming this Spring. And now rumors are spreading like wild fire that Hunchback of Notre Dame is starting it’s trek to Broadway. After a successful run in Berlin, their bringing it to San Diego at the La Jolla Playhouse from October 28th to December 7th. No casting has been announced nor hints that tell us it’s coming to New York but we have high hopes for the beloved animated movie. Whether it will come before Frozen we don’t know but we think it’ll likely appear, if it can make it, in the 2016-2017 season. Were sure Aladdin will be a huge part in whether or not the show is coming. I think they’ll have to distance both the projects from each other because quite frankly I think there very similar in their demographics and styles, all you need to do is combine Hercules with Aladdin and you’ll get the emotional story of the Hunchback. Either way, were happy at the Hunchback could be on the assembly line in Disney’s resiliant machine. If it’s ready, it’s going to be one heck of a show!
